Orphanage House
Asia currently has the highest number of orphans, estimated at 71 million, with 4.6 million orphaned children in Pakistan alone. Many of these children have lost their families due to terrorism, sectarian violence, natural disasters, or extreme poverty. Additionally, Pakistan’s large refugee population has contributed to the rising number of vulnerable children in the country.
Life is especially harsh for children living in slums, where access to food, clean water, education, and healthcare is severely limited. Tragically, the mortality rate for children under five can reach 65% in these conditions. These challenges make it critical to provide safe, nurturing environments that allow the next generation to survive, grow, and thrive.
Human Shelter Foundation’s Orphanage House, located in Malir, Karachi, is built on a 1000-yard plot generously donated by GFS Builders and Developers. After the success of our Old Age Home, this initiative was launched to provide orphaned children with a loving home, proper education, and guidance so they can develop into confident and successful members of society.
Our orphanage is designed to protect children from societal dangers such as child labor, underage marriage, kidnapping, and exploitation, giving them the care, safety, and emotional support they deserve. Every child is offered food, water, clothing, shelter, and medical care, along with education and skill development programs guided by psychologists, physical trainers, and arts & crafts specialists to nurture their growth.
